GTA Online weekly update October 5: Halloween event, free rewards, Prize Ride & discounts

The GTA Online October 5 weekly update patch notes are here, bringing some big changes to Cayo Perico as well as various discounts, and boosts. Here’s everything you need to know about Rockstar’s newest GTA update.

As regular GTA Online players will know, Rockstar provides a new update each week, adding or switching around content. This usually includes login bonuses, boosted rewards for specific missions, featured races, and a whole lot more.

The past 12 months have been a big one for Rockstar Games and Grand Theft Auto with tons of drama and news involving GTA 6. The long-awaited sequel was revealed last year, but the game has been exposed, presumably, well ahead of time with a huge leak. Rockstar has since confirmed the leaked footage to be genuine, and the hacker has been arrested.

We’re still waiting for more info on that front and the GTA Online follow-up, but until that time, let’s see what’s been added in the most recent GTA 5 update on October 5, 2023. These are the full patch notes.

GTA Online weekly update patch notes (October 5)

New GTA Online content added

Previous updates have seen Rockstar make some big changes to GTA Online, including nerfing the Cayo Perico Heist by reducing some of the payouts. Though, the Attack on Cayo Perico game mode did get a buff to it’s payouts.

This week, the GTA Online devs are starting to ring in the spooky season with some Halloween-themed changes. And, yes, those unusual random sightings are back.

The are some free rewards to be had, as well as a bunch of discounts too, but we’ll get to them later.

Prize Ride Challenge Vehicle

This week’s GTA Online Prize Ride car to acquire is the Pfister Neon. You’ll need to place top 2 in LS Car Meet races for three consecutive days to unlock it.

Lucky Wheel podium reward vehicle: Bravado Greenwood

You can pick up the Bravado Greenwood this week, featured on the Diamond Casino Lucky Wheel reward, so could get it for free if your luck is in – or you know how to win every time.

Which GTA Online missions have the highest payout?

As of October 5, 2023, the GTA Online mission with the highest payout is still the Cayo Perico Heist. Though, it’s not as lucrative as it once was.

There are some 3-2x GTA$ & RP opportunities this week. So, not a great week for grinders.

As noted, there are a few free rewards and bonuses to be had this week – but full restock of ammo, snacks, and other things are gone.

The Scarlet Vintage Devil Mask is available until October 11. You’ll have to play for 30 minutes to unlock that!
